Wedding Sari Packing and Decorating

Hey...i got an order of Wedding Sari Packing and Decorating...will you believe...i thought it'll be fun...I'll be busy doing something and as a matter of fact..i love doing creative things..... :-)
First..i did some shopping...and you know...there was no special items for decoration in the market... :-(
i had to buy gota's and ribbons and some ready-made flowers which were too small...i chose matching colors similar to Sari so that the ribbon looks good on them.
But...as i started folding and packing Sari...it was not really easy...i mean, i had packed Sari's before but these were too heavy and unmanageable.
Anyways...i did it with the help of my dear daughter Sobia...and at last we finished the work...and it was really nice to hear that everyone loved it...:-)
If you work hard and your work is appreciated...nothing better than that...you really feel satisfied and happy.
{Packed Saris Pics below}

Now for those people who are wondering what is Sari - it is Indian traditional dress worn by women in most part of India and South Asia.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sari
The small packet with the Sari is Bindi - small decorative dot placed on forehead, worn by women in South Asia.

Nice to share things with you all....
luv ya... :-)

Beautiful Homemade Card

This is beautiful homemade card --
First...take a chart paper for card and cut it in your desired shape and size...
To decorate...cut shapes as base of flowers and butterfly from the chart paper ...
then cut little smaller double layers of colored florescent sheets of flowers and
butterfly and paste on the base shape...outline the shapes with glitter pen
and paste the butterfly and flowers on the card...
Decorate the border of the card too as you wish...(see in picture above)...

This is a both side opening card...on the either sides we have written lovely
friendship thoughts and sayings...because this card is for a friend's birthday...
we have drawn a cloud in the middle and written 'Happy Birthday' in it...
And most important-- we have made a little shopping bag and pasted it
below the cloud...(see the pic)...
Next we made some more small shapes of --
heart, toffee, diamond, star, moon and balloon... and wrote some cool things
such as - 'friends forever', 'u r the best' etc; (see the picture above)...
to make the card and person more special...then join all shapes with a thread...
Fold the shapes and Gift wrap it in a small sheet of colored paper...
tie it with a ribbon..and keep the small surprise in the bag --
(as shown in the picture above)...
Finally, you can see the Card neatly wrapped and tied with a silver lace..

Try it at home and tell me how you made it...
Luv u all...  :)

Holiday projects for kids

Hi guys...
I visited my sister in Delhi a few days back.
Enjoyed our time there...with my sister
Arshi and her two cute lil daughters..
Ameena and Alia. Ameena had a project
to do..make anything from clay...
so my sis idea was to make eggs
in the nest...

So, as we started to make eggs...
(see the pictures)

* shaped the clay in small egg shape.

* we made 5 eggs of same size.
you can make as much as you
want..

* then rolled a handful amount of clay
in long shape...and joined the two
ends for nest base..and placed it on
a cardboard...

* stick some hay with glue on nest
base so it looks real..
now let the clay dry...

* now decoration...
color the eggs as you like...
you can use water colors or poster colors..
use your imagination...
you can color the eggs like easter eggs...
just as we had done it...

Most important...enjoy what you do... :)
Happy Holidays... love you all ...
